Hope everyone is good and getting stoked for tour!

Since we announced the end of the band and the tour moving we’ve been re-arranging the album and single release dates to work with the new shows.

We’re happy to let you know that The Air Is Cold Tonight will be released as a digital single on Monday 18 June. It’ll have a couple of b-sides that you won’t have heard before, including a new acoustic version of the track that we recorded live with Marc & Will. We also have a video of the recording, which we’ll release to pledgers in the coming weeks.

Behind The Bright Lights will be released on Monday 16 July, physically and digitally. The special 2 disc version of the album is available for pre-order now through our PledgeMusic page and anyone pledging on it will get the download nearly 3 weeks early, on Friday 29 June. We’re also checking out whether we can do a run of single CDs of the standard album for people who might not want the extra material. Watch this space, we’ll confirm this soon.

We’ll also be releasing a second single from the album, A Different World, on Monday 9 July, a week before the album and will put up the video for the track in due course.

We’ve just released another album track for immediate download for pledgers only. It’s called You Peaked at Sixteen, and is another thank you from us to you guys that have all made this double disc version of the record possible.

Hey guys

Hope you’re all well.

Writing letters like this is never fun or easy, but it is with heavy heart that we have decided to call time on Fei Comodo. Although it might seem to many of you like this has come out of the blue, in truth it’s something we’ve all struggled with for some time now.

Our band has been together since 2003, and in that time we have achieved so much. Out on the road together, the five of us have played so many great shows and festivals, including both Download and the tent headline at Sonisphere, toured with countless amazing bands both here in the UK and overseas, and we really have made some great friends along the way.

September 2008 saw the release of our mini-album ‘They All Have Two Faces’, which went down really well, and frankly at the time, we were damn proud of it. The plan was then to release our debut full-length a year later. That time came round much quicker than we had anticipated and after a year of touring in support of ‘They All Have Two Faces’, September 2009 rolled around & we didn’t have our album ready! So the five of us, desperate not to fall too far behind on our next release, hit the studio hard at the beginning of November. We wrote & recorded a whole album, that again, at the time, we were all really proud of. This album went on to be named ‘Behind The Bright Lights’.

Unknowingly to us, this was to be the first, & last time we would enter the studio together to record a full-length album.

For a number of reasons beyond our control, it has taken around 3 very long years to get this album released. Over that period we have grown a lot as friends and as a band and although we are pleased to finally be releasing ‘Behind The Bright Lights’ for you all to hear, we simply are not that band anymore and can no longer pretend to be. The reality is that in the time that has passed between us recording this album in November 2009 and releasing it now in 2012 we’ve changed both as a band & as people. To continue when we’re not 100% into what were doing is just not possible for us any longer.

This has been undoubtedly one of the hardest & biggest decisions that the five of us have ever had to make but thank you so much to everyone that came to see us play & followed us throughout this journey. It has been incredible and we don’t regret any of it. Had ‘Behind The Bright Lights’ been released earlier things might be very different, but it is with great sadness to us that now we’ll just never know.

We’re still very much working on the PledgeMusic project and will be making the album available there. You guys have been so supportive of the record there and it means so much. We’ve extended the project by some weeks and for those of you asking about that, the reason will now be clear. We wanted to give as many of you as possible time to get involved in this album before the project closes. Right now, this is where you need to go if you want a copy of the album. We’ll ensure that the main 12 tracks get up on iTunes, Spotify and the other usual download stores but if you want to get the extended version with the extra audio & video - it’ll probably be a 2 disc set - then PledgeMusic is the place to go. We’ll confirm the new release date and all the relevant details on it for you soon.

The tour has been moved back to July & the bands that we had invited along on the original shows are still coming out. If you have a ticket for a show already (thank you!), it will remain valid. The new dates (and supports) are:

We want the coming weeks to be a celebration of what the band means to all of us and of everything that we’ve been through together, and we’d love it if you’d come and join us on the road to sing some songs one last time.

PledgeMusic - what's it all about?

How is everyone?

By now hopefully most of you have seen the project we’re running with PledgeMusic for a special edition version of the new album - special packaging, bonus content, the works. Loads of you have already pledged and we thank you! But if you’re one of those who has looked at it and not full understood what the hell is going on then read on - this is for you.

We’ve put together a FAQ to answer any questions you’ve got on what the project is, why we’re running it and what it actually means. Have a read. Then have a look - and pledge! If there’s anything we haven’t covered that you’d like to ask, just let us know.

Oh yes - please repost this and tell all your friends. The more pledges we get, the quicker we reach our target.

What is PledgeMusic?
PledgeMusic is a website that allows us to both involve you guys in and raise funds to complete a project of our choice for you if enough of you want it.

What are you doing with them?
We’re running a project right now for a special edition version of the Behind The Bright Lights album.

How does it work?
Have a look at this. It’s our project - for a version of the album in special packaging and with a bunch of additional content. It’s gonna be great.

We’ve created a list of things that you can you can ‘pledge’ on - or pre-order. The main one is obviously the CD, but there are loads of others - there’s a new tee, a new hoody, a signed set list, a guitar lesson over Skype with Will, a vocal lesson at the studio with Marc, the chance to attend a special live session show or even have us play a house party at your place! Everything that you pledge on helps us towards our 100% target. When we reach 100% (and go beyond it) then the project is confirmed and we can start working on the album and on your pledges!

So if you reach 100% I’ll get my special edition album?
Exactly!

How does the money work?
If you pledge using a credit card, your card won’t be charged until we reach 100% and the project is confirmed. If you pledge using PayPal you’ll be charged immediately (PledgeMusic isn’t able to delay PayPal transactions) but if we don’t reach 100% then you will be refunded straight away. Money pledged is held by PledgeMusic, not the artist.

What happens when you reach 100%?
The project is confirmed! We can start working on getting your pledges made - your CDs pressed, your tees printed, your house gigs scheduled, and so on.

Does the project stop at 100%?
No! There are a ton of projects on the PledgeMusic site that have reached much more their target. We’re donating a percentage of the profits from the project to Cancer Research UK so the more pledges we get, the more items we can include and the more we can give to our charity.

How long will it take to get my stuff?
PledgeMusic gives us a period of around 6 weeks once the project has closed to get everything made & delivered. We’ll be working towards that and hoping to beat it. And we obviously want to get the record made and delivered to everyone on the same day as the shops release the main album. So get pledging!

What’s in it for people who pledge on the special edition album?
Aside from the fact that you’re actually helping us make the record? Lots. We’ve posted a bunch of exclusive video content and have a whole load more to come. Plus everyone who pledges before we have to send the CD off for manufacture will get their name in the booklet thanks. Amazing!

How close are you to your target?
At the time of writing, 76%.

With a lengthy absence until recently, what was expected from Fei Comodo was less known than other bands on the bill today. Although having given themselves a respectable name it seems the time away left them with merely the die-hard fans remaining. Put this aside and the fact they were put on a stage far too small for them, Fei Comodo came on with full guns blazing and threw everything they had out there. Starting the set with the fans favourite Break The Ice it wasn’t long until people took notice again, with the motion of the room nothing short of vertigo. Marc Halls still kills these songs (In a fucking awesome manner) with his pitch perfect vocals and ability to interact and throw himself into the crowd. He then descends onto bringing newer songs to our ears such as Rival Tides, an epic encounter that shows how far they have moved on while still keeping the aspects of the Fei Comodo we all know and love. With a set full of newer songs we would generally say this is a bit risky but these guys pulled this one off with flying colours. They’re back and stronger than ever before, if you wrote them off before, now is the time to take notice.
